JUNE 2012 GLOSSY BOX REVIEW

30 Jul

ImageHey Frugalista’s

I received my June 2012 Glossy box a few weeks ago. This month Glossy Box was another winner! There were plenty full size products which is what I always love. The theme of the June box was summer! It had summer essentials in this months box. They gave us a razor to have smooth sexy legs for the summer, Wella Ocean spritz hair spray for sexy beach curls. Also, sunscreen to protect our skin from those harmful rays, face cleanser to freshen up, dual lipstick to have many sexy lip color combinations for the summer.

The first Item is the Gillette Venus Embrace Razor value of $13.43. I LOVE this razor I have been using it prior to receiving it in the Glossy Box. This razor is a bit pricey but its worth the money. It has 5 blades and around the razor its cushioned with a gel foam. Also, there is a moisture strip above the blades which is great. One of the best things about this razor is you can buy the replacement heads at a drugstore or walmart. You get a really nice close and smooth shave. This razor alone almost pays for the box it self.

The second item is the Biore 4 in 1 Revitalizing Cleanser, its value is $9.99 and its 200ml. This is another full size product, Biore has a good line of facial products. I have used some in the past and loved them. However, I had never tried this cleanser until I got my Glossy Box. This cleanser is a 4 in 1 it purifies, cleanses, tones and refreshes your skin. I can tell you it is definitely refreshing it leaves a nice clean minty fresh feeling. After you wash your face it feels like all the impurities and make up is lifted and my face felt lighter. This cleanser is a pump bottle and it foams up with water. I would recommend  this product!

The third product is the Cover Girl Blast Flipstick-Blendable lip duo. This product is also full size and the value is $12.50 it is 3.8gr in size. This is the product I was most excited about in my box. This Cover Girl Flipstick is new and when I received it, it was not even available in Canada at the time. It was super exciting being the first to try an item before it was available to others. Glossy Box gave me the perfect shade I got the 800 Whisper murmure color. At one end its a baby pink/mauve color the other end is a luminous pink with a little gold shimmer in it. The lipstick is very smooth and moisturizing. The great feature of this product is you have 3 lip colors in one lipstick. You can wear each shade alone or you can use both and blend a new color. Cover Girl made a great product and I love it! It’s a double ended lipstick with endless possibilities! This product almost covers the price of the box alone.

I have been wearing this lipstick every day since I got it 😀

My fourth item is the Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz its a 150mL bottle which is full size! The value is $16.99 this product alone pays for the box. I love high end hair products however, I do not use spritz and hairsprays in my hair 😦 Moreover, we all know Wella is a great salon brand with great products. I cannot give my personal opinion because I have not tried the product. The information booklet says that it gives chunky texture for that carefree beachy hair look. An information booklet came with it telling you have to achieve the beach curls. Wella is exclusively available at salons.

This picture shows this month there was 4 full sized products which is an excellent value each of these items either pay for the box it self or close to.

The June Glossy Box had 3 actual sample size samples this month. The above picture shows the 3 sample products. First sample is the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strip most of us are familiar with this product it has been out for years. You apply it to your nose and it removes blackheads and whiteheads. Its a good product, there was 1 strip in this months box. If your interested in purchashing these strips it is $9.99 for 8strips in a package. That makes the one strip in the box worth $1.25.

The second sample is Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex 7ml. This product I was not excited about I am too young for wrinkle cream I feel it was not suited for me. Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex is an anti-aging formula. It has advanced micro-fillers to smooth fine lines. It contains BioPeptide and B3 complex it hydrates and improves the appearance of deep lines in 14 days. The sample can be used maybe 3-4 times the cost for a 50mL bottle would cost $30.99. The value of this sample would be approximately $4. I tried it and It has no scent and honestly it did not feel amazing on my skin nor was it creamy.

The third and last sample was Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF55. This sample size was pretty good 14 ml,it is travel size perfect for a vacation. This sunscreen is voted #1 for best feeling sunscreen by Canadian Dermatologists. I actually had a skin damage test done years ago and the Dermatologist recommended this sunscreen so I totally believe that claim. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry- Touch sunscreen is very light and it asborbes fast. It does not feel heavy and greasy like many other suncreens. It contains Helioplex which provides photostable protection from UVA/UBV rays. The cost for this product is $15.99 for an 88ml bottle. Therefore, the value of the sample is $2.66, I would recommend this product for sure.

The June 2012 Glossy Box was another excellent deal for the monthly price of $15. This months total value of all the products is $60.82! That’s a steal! 🙂 I would definetly recommend Glossy box to anyone. The products are great and you get 4-5 full size products as you can see from my previous reviews.
