GLOSSYBOX CANADA JANUARY 2013 REVIEW & UNBOXING

10 Feb

Hey Frugalista’s,

It’s been a little while since I posted a blog. This is the Glossybox January 2013 review. This month Glossybox Canada had a theme of winter moisturization. The box had hydrating items for th e winter months.

Wella Mousee for Color Treated Hair

This is a full size product which retails for $17.99. I have never used mousse nor does my hair type require the use of mousse. Wella is a very good and well known salon brand. I cannot give a review because I do not use this product.

Too Faced Lip Injection Lip Gloss

Image

This is a very small sample of the Too Faced Lip Injection gloss. I give this an approximate value of $0-1. This product provides your lips with a tingle enlarging your lips to appear plumper. As you can see I do not need any more plumping my lips are naturally full. I have no use for this product nor can I review it. However, Too Faced is a well known product.

Burt’s Bee’s Milk & Honey Lotion

Image

This is a deluxe sample size/ Travel size product. The full size would retail for $12.99 the approximate value for this lotion is $2. Burt’s Bee products are 99% natural and this product contains honey and smells very nice and light. It is hydrating and a perfect size for your purse.

Vitabath Hand Lotion

Citrus Twist Vita bath hand lotion was a travel size/purse size product. The scent is very refreshing and sweet. Vitabath has some great products and the lotion is moisturizing.

BeautySoClean Sanitation Wipes

Image

Samples of BeautySoClean sterilizing wipes have a value of approximately $2-3. The full size package contains 45 wipes; I got 15 wipes in my box. These wipes are used to clean make-up pencils, lipsticks, lip gloss etc. It removes lint, loose debris, dust etc. Simply use to wipe down the exterior of your product. I like this line however, I do not like the wipes I prefer their spray. It is great for travelling or on the go. Especially, when you keep cosmetics loose in your purse.

Nivea Lip Balm

Image

This was a full size product and the value was $2. Nivea lip balm contains Shea butter and jojoba oil, it is very moisturizing. It made my lips feel super soft and nourished with moisture. I would highly recommend this product especially as a base before putting on lipstick. I was a bit disappointed to see lip chap in a beauty box but it has become one of my favorite items this month.

Overall, the January Canadian Glossybox was not great! I was honestly disappointed with the low quality and repeat products. I got two lotions and was not really pleased with that seeing that this is a beauty box I was looking for more cosmetics. The items picked for me did not match my profile. I do not use mousse for my hair type nor do I need lip plumper and I already received the sterilizing wipes previously.

The approximate total value of the box was the lowest value ever $25-$28. Just a reminder this is a monthly beauty subscription that cost $21/month. I love Glossybox but was disappointed this month. Hopefully next month will be a lot better.
